Interesting Facts: Diana Cordero

What does Abraham Lincoln and I have in common?
We were born on the same day, but different year. February 12.

He was the sixteenth president, but I am a high school teacher.
He educated himself with books without attending school, but I obtain my B.A. at Inter American University in San German and my M.A. at State University of  New York in Buffalo.
He didn’t last very long in the white house because he was assassinated, but I am still kicking in the school system for over 28 years now.

He gave the blacks slaves their freedom, and I give my students the freedom to learn English more freely.

If you want to learn more about what I do just write to me at: bronxgl59@yahoo.com or lamb2teach@gmail.com

I was born on a very important date because it is the same day that our 16th president was born, eventually on a different year February 12, 1959. I was born and lived in Bronx, New York for eleven years until my parents decided to return to their precious island of Puerto Rico. I continue my secondary schooling in Aguadilla where I graduated from Jose de Diego H.S. in 1978. I decided to attend Inter American University of San German, which I graduated in 1982 from a B.A in E.S.L. My first educational experience was in Moca where I taught as a Title I teacher, team teaching with another teacher.

The following year I started my graduate courses in 1983 at State University of New York at Buffalo, which I graduated in 1985. Since then I have been teaching English as a Second Language to L2 students in Puerto Rico for the present year and in Buffalo for only two years. In 1990, I decided to enrich my horizon, so I applied for a teaching position as a professor in the university. I worked for nine years and I returned to same institution again after two years and an half of absent. I have also rendered my service to the University of Puerto Rico in Aguadilla by giving College Board reviews and Conversational English to adults on and off whenever my service is needed. I enjoy teaching that is why I teach English to my students. I encourage them the same enthusiasm, so they could follow their dreams with an open mind in what they want in their life.
